Dr Conor McGrath
Dr McGrath qualified as a doctor from the University of Liverpool in 1996 after obtaining a degree in human physiology. He trained in anaesthesia and intensive care medicine and was appointed as a consultant at Wirral NHS Foundation Trust in 2005. His specialities are anaesthesia and formally intensive care medicine. He is experienced in looking after patients with severe illnesses and complex problems.
His interest in functional and integrative medicine is longstanding and stems from his curiosity to get to the root cause of his patient’s problems. It was obvious to him that severe illness rarely comes out of the blue and normally has a long and complex development before presenting as an emergency.
This prompted him to study for the AFMCP from the Institute of Functional Medicine and start seeing patients at an earlier stage of their health problems. He has found this approach extremely effective and based in sound scientific principles. He has completed a wide range of training from a variety of sources, including Cogence Immunology, Metabolic Fitness Pro and the Quantum Biology Collective.
Over the last couple of years, Dr. McGrath has come to appreciate the many factors contributing to healthy longevity, including the fundamental roles of circadian and quantum biology. Dr McGrath will see adult patients with a wide variety of conditions, including autoimmune arthritis, digestion problems, chronic fatigue, metabolic and weight problems and a wide variety of neurological conditions.
Conor’s main inspiration was his late wife, Lisa, who was a very popular local GP and an early adapter of the principles of functional and integrative medicine. Maintaining Lisa’s legacy is a very important driver for him.
